Etgar Israel was held on Yom Haatzmaut. This year almost 100 students from 6 Schools joined together to celebrate Yom Haatzmaut. The event was launched with an impactful address from an Israeli army veteran from Beit Halochem. Students compete against each other to answer a series of challenging questions based on the Etgar Israel handbook. The students performed exceptionally well. Alongside the Etgar quiz students were asked to complete two creative challenges. The first challenge was to design an Israel book jacket commemorating key events in Israel’s history. Students had to use their knowledge to design the book jacket and write the blurb about the book. The second creative challenge was a special challenge specifically designed around JNF UK’s work. Students had to design a mosaic that could serve as a logo and write an accompanying piece about how their mosaic reflected the JNF UK values of hope, peace & community.
